Dental restorations refer to the practice of repairing injured tooth structure with a dental material of some type. The injury can be decay, fractures, or even developmental defects. Most dental restorations are divided into two main groups direct and indirect.
Direct restorations are what most people refer to as fillings. Here at Valley Smiles we place composite restorations, which are a tooth colored filling. In this process we will remove the decay, then place a malleable material into the cavity, harden the material with a blue light, and then shape the restoration to return the tooth to good form and function.
